Adventure trip to Leh & Ladakh in 2013

We have great ride in High Himalayas. We were total 6 riders including Team Leader Yogesh Kumar. We enjoyed our Motorcycle trip to Leh & Ladakh region of North India. We got very good condition Royal Enfield 500 cc that’s also called bullet in India as traditional trade mark of Royal Enfield. We are writing a brief story about our memorable motorcycle tour to Himalayas with Royal Bike Riders as day wise with some nice photos.DSC02701

Day 1:  We took our flight from Australia to India that was long but finally we made to Delhi airport where we all received by Royal Bike Riders representative personally he welcomed us by garland & 1 bottle of mineral water that was great in the month of August, summer time in India. Later he took us to the hotel, Jaypee Vasant Continental, a 5* hotel near to airport. We enjoyed beers & introduced each other & RBR crew members in the hotel. After having good shower, we all have gone to Delhi sightseeing & saw great monuments of Delhi like Jama Masjid, Red Fort, President House, Qutab Minar etc. For Dinner we have gone to Delhi restaurant near India Gate. Great day

Day 2: Today we took train from New Delhi railway station & reached to Kalka station from here we again took narrow gauge train to Shimla that was incredible & finest example of British Engineering in the 1903. This Kalka-Shimla railways goes through more than 900 bridges & 90 tunnels & lot of curves of course. Overall a great ride once in your life.  We reached in Shimla in the evening & drive straight to our Hotel. Enjoyed cold beers & whiskey in the Shimla. This was the day when we saw our bikes first time.DSC02711Day 3: Today everybody is excited because we are going to start our dream Motorcycle tour to High Himalayas. First we were introduced to our Legendary Royal Enfield 500 cc. All motorcycles were in very good conditions & later we were introduced to all crew members by Mr Yogesh Kumar, our Mechanic & driver. We started our ride through crowed Shimla & after crossing Shimla we found very good road in paved condition. We enjoyed our riding to Kalpa, our destination for today & night stay. our hotel was good name Kinner Villa. We had great party after riding 9 hrs & we took many photos of villages, people, food, water falls & our bullets. Our rider trying to cross water falls

Day 4: After breakfast we started our ride to Tabo, a small village in high Himalayas. Tabo has a great & old monastery near the village & we visited this monastery. Today’s ride was very good & very had changes in geography as we entered in cold desert & high mountains.

Day 5: Today we are going to ride upto Chander Taal, a famous lake as Moon Lake. This place is so quiet & clean that you will love at first. Today we crossed our first pass as Kunzam pass at 4500 Mt. before Chander Taal lake. Our accommodation was in tents that is fair in the remote area of Himalayas. Actually tents were comfortable & clean what more we want in the Himalayas. Very enjoyable ride today. in the evening we all had party in the tents with Beers & whiskey.

Day 6: Today we are going to ride to Jispa, a small village on the Manali-Leh highway. Today we crossed many water falls & our riding was mostly off-road that we enjoyed lot. It was actually great ride with lot of adventure & fun. finally we reached at Jispa & checked into our hotel situated very close to river. We had nice party on the river drinking Beers. Loved it.

Day 7: Today we are riding our Bullets to high lake named as Tso Kar Lake on 4200 mt. where we felt altitude but this is very nice place surrounded by high mountain peaks & snow on the peaks. This place is extremely cold in the night & next morning you can face problem as water is frozen so you have to manage with just face wash & hand wash. We met many foreigners there who were going for trekking in the high Himalayas.DSC02438Day 8: Today we reached Leh, capital & headquarter for the Ladakh region. It is a nice place with many beautiful & spectacular monasteries. This town has lot of Indian Army because of Chinese & Pakistani borders. Now we are more comfortable as we are down to 3000 mt with less altitude.DSC02454Day 9: Today we spent whole time to see amazing monasteries like Hamis, Spituk, Thikse & Shanti Stupa. It was nice to see monks prayers traditions. people are very warm welcoming & friendly in the Ladakh region. We took our Lunch in the Thikse monastery that was very good although It was vegy but best. So long day & lot of things to see & we took so many pictures.

Day 10: Today It is great day as we are going to cross World’s Highest road at Khardung La on 18380 Feet above sea level. It took almost 2 hrs to reach on World’s Highest road & we took so many photos with the holdings on the pass. We were relaxed on this point even altitude was very high anyway we did it & enjoyed coffee on Highest pass. later we came back to Leh & enjoyed our party after crossing World’s highest pass. Day 11: Today we are going to another high altitude lake in the Himalayas named as Tso Moriri Lake. Karzok id the last village near lake. Lake is spectacular surrounded by high mountain peaks. It is a long ride to the Lake that is around 8-9 Hrs ride from Leh to Tso Moriri Lake.  We enjoyed our ride truly today. Road was very good with very less traffic & most of the route is along with River Indus. Scenery is spectacular & you have chance to capture very nice photos of the High Himalayas.

Day 12: We are heading up towards Sarchu on the Leh-Manali highway where we are going to stay in camps. Sarchu is a spectacular place for photography where you can take so many photos of high mountain’s peaks with snow.

Day 13: Today we are going to green town of Manali. Manali is very famous place for Honeymooners & other tourist as a winter destination. Lot of people come to Manali to enjoy cool climate & snow capped mountains in Manali. In the summer time Manali is the Favorite destination for Indian tourist & Manali is full of tourist in the months of April, May & June.  We crossed Rohtang pass before reaching Manali & we found lot of mist at the time because of rainy season. We loved Manali & waether here. Cheers to all riders mate.DSC02563Day 14: After breakfast we started our ride towards small village of Shoja surrounded by pine forest everywhere & snow capped mountains. Hotel in Shoja was very nice & warm welcoming. We get one bottle of beer from owner as he is also moto adventure loving person. He had great time in Shoja & enjoyed evening siting near fire & drinking beers. Food was very good in Shoja. Small place but excellent services. Cheers up guys.

Day 15: Today this is our last day ride in the Himalayas. We started our riding little early to Shimla. We had great time in the Himalayas & we thanks Yogesh Kumar & his team to make our motorcycle tour memorable & safe. We put off our riding gears & took Taxi to catch train from Kalka for Delhi. We reached in Delhi around 10:20 PM later checked into the hotel for night stay.

Day 16: Time to say good bye India & Himalayas we had great time because of Royal Bike Riders services & their hard work. We want to say again thanks to everybody associated with us. We all fall in love with India & definitely coming on another tour with Royal Bike Riders. Thanks Yogesh & Royal Bike Riders
